Broadway will mark Sept. 11 anniversary

NEW YORK, Aug. 26 (UPI) -- The New York theater artists say they will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attack with a performance in Duffy Square.

The 4 p.m. Friday gathering of the theater community to sing "New York, New York" will echo the performance given outdoors 10 years before, to soothe and anchor New Yorkers with a sense of normalcy.

The event, produced by The Broadway League, is being held in support of the 9/11 Day of Service and Remembrance with more support by the Times Square Alliance and Theatre Development Fund, The Broadway League said on its Web site.
